Recognized as one of the top gamelan orchestras outside of Indonesia, Chicago Balinese Gamelan presents “Kreasi”, a dynamic must-see performance juxtaposing new compositions and choreography with traditional ceremonial dances. Kreasi means “creation”, and featured are several world premier performances, including Rejang Suarangin (“sound of the windy city”), composed and performed by Balinese artistic trailblazers and guest artists Dewa Ayu Eka Putri and I Putu Tangkas Adi Hiranmayena. Putu and Ayu are most notably known for their collaboration project ghOst MiSt, which integrates traditional Balinese customs and spirituality with modern influences. The performance also features compositions by Lydia Martin and Ross Lafleur.
