Greektown is a neighborhood in Chicago's West Loop. Chicago's Greek population began to congregate in the area toward the end of the 1800s. For over 100 years, Greektown was the most well-recognized community of Greek people living in the United States. Today, the neighborhood sits alongside the campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Little Village is a neighborhood located within Chicago's South Lawndale. Though the neighborhood was originally occupied by Eastern European immigrants in the late 1800s, it is now affectionately nicknamed "Mexico of the Midwest". Today, Little Village is home to the Mexican Independence Day parade, which is the largest Latinx parade in Chicago. The neighborhood is doubtlessly a hub for Mexican art, food, and culture in the city.
